Hello everyone!
I hope that everyone has/had a great Monday! I worked my 16 hour shift last night into this morning. Monday’s are a day of pure laziness and catching up on sleep. However, today I tried so hard to not be lazy! I only slept for about 4 hours but I was able to bake a cake for my puppy and cook dinner with my boyfriend!
How many of you are dog lovers?!
A little back story on me and my love for dogs. When I was younger probably about 2 years old, my aunt who used to babysit me would tell me that a big dog would come and bite me if I got too far away from her while playing outside. Needless to say, I grew up with a fear of dogs. It was the worst; not wanting to go to friends houses because they own dogs, having them put their dogs away while I was over, and literally climbing trees with no intention of getting down until the dog was gone and all because I was just petrified of dogs. Now fast forward, at 25 years old, I love dogs!
Anyways, while I was baking Enzo’s cake (his birthday is tomorrow) I wanted to take photos with my Samsung Galaxy S7. I feel that I don’t use the camera to it’s full potential which is one of the reasons why I bought this phone. The phones camera has a feature called pro, which gives you the functions like a DSLR camera. You can choose the aperture, ISO and so forth. While preparing the cake I decided to play around with the settings and these are how the photos came out!
Let me know what you think of the quality! I personally love the photos and I am thoroughly pleased with my phones camera!
When I first took this picture I thought to myself… well I hope I don’t fail this! I am not a baker – my best friend is the baker, I am the photographer π
I was proud of myself for preheating the oven before I started preparing the cake mix. Typically when I make brownies or something I forget to PREheat the oven. Haha.
I didn’t use a spoon to mix it…. I don’t actually know why I have a spoon there – lack of sleep probably.
It was really hard taken this picture being as my right hand is my dominate hand!
Of course, I couldn’t start baking without my DD!
….time to mix the frosting!!
Here’s the test, does the toothpick come out clean…. YES! First time testing it and it came out clean! I was so proud of myself, whenever I make brownies the first test always leaves brownie residue on the toothpick.
Now, we wait…. for it to cool down and apply the frosting! Check back in the next post to see the final result π
Overall, I am proud of the way that the cake came out.. I almost wish I could eat it! And I am proud of myself for taking the time to use my camera on my phone to it’s full potential! It gives me a good feeling to know that if I don’t have my DSLR around I can just snap a picture with my phone and it’ll look good!
Oooooh you caught me off guard at the end there! Haha now I gotta follow you so I don’t miss the next post. π

I’m an avid baker, and a sometime photographer (it’s super hard to take photos of yourself doing things!). I’m looking forward to seeing what else you’ve got going on π This makes me think I’ll have to post my famous chocolate chip cookie recipe on my website…
